I’m going home on Friday. Yeah! Finally. Spent Thursday in this room by myself reading my Kindle. Just chilling till Friday. This is not the last of the tests. I have several more to do later this year. If everything works out, I’ll be able to get the brain surgery later this year. If it doesn’t work out, there’s always the VNS implant.

General junk (better than calling it “uncategorized”)…
Still here at the hospital….. probably still be here by the end of the week.
The weekend stay was a fairly quiet one. Not much happened. But then came Monday. Monday was extremely busy as far as seizures go. I had many seizures that day. I did finish the SPECT scan. I was having seizures while on the table of the SPECT scan.
Monday was busy. Tuesday, not so much. Still laying here in the same bed with the same probes on my head.
Day 5
It’s Friday. Still here at KU Med Hospital. Still have my head probes. Still in bed and on camera. The doc came by and said that since I haven’t had a seizure yet, I’ll have to be here till Monday or longer.
…
So here’s what’s happening… It’s Friday night and having a seizure before Monday will be not the best time to have one. You see, the people that inject the radioactive liquid into my veins to do the SPECT scan don’t work on the weekend. I need to do this SPECT scan right after I have a seizure. So, I’ll just have to wait here till Monday before I can get any seizures fully checked out by scanning my brain.
Now I wait for the weekend to go away…..
Learned something last night
I have to tell you, if you have to get a Video EEG sometime, then you should not wear dark colored clothes at night. Sleeping in a hospital room with probes on your head connected to wires while being watched on camera 24/7. The lights always have to be on all the time so the cameras can see you. The dark clothing makes the dim lights hard to see you, so the lights cannot be lowered. Bright lights! Bright lights!
