First of all, I’m sweating like crazy because my AC is out, but that’s another story…

Got through to the doctor and spoke with her. She said the main docs are still out and to just wait. Trust us, we’ll call you… But she did have some info. One of the questions I was having for them was if I needed to have a “intracranial grid”. I was hoping that I wouldn’t, but she said that it was decided that I would. What is a intracranial grid? Well, hmmm… What is the best way to explain this?

The intracranial grid, or iEEG, is similar to the EEG or Video EEG that I’ve had in the past. An EEG is where probes are placed on the head to measure the electrical pulses of the brain. When I had the video EEG, they were enticing me to have a seizure so they could measure that. NOW… the intracranial grid is done by opening and folding back the skull to expose the brain and put the probes directly on the brain. They also need to make me have a seizure.

Blah blah blah… yadda yadda…  It’s WAY too hot in this house to type.

My doctor also told me to STOP reading about what they are going to be doing and especially stop watching YouTube videos on this stuff. GET A HOBBY. Is basically what she said.

So, it’s hot, I’m tired and I need a cold shower. Later.

This Friday

I’ve decided to take this week off of work to keep myself open to whatever needs to be done as far as with the doctors. I learned today that Friday is when I will be having this Wada Test. I’ll have 2 incisions and laying still on a table for 2 hours, among other things. Probably a hard table like I had for 45 minutes while doing the SPECT Scan. That hurt like hell.

Haven’t learned when the doctor’s meeting is.

Yep. I was told that I was going to have all this stuff told to me by the doctors sometime this week. The docs were supposed to meet on Tuesday. I was told to call the hospital on Wednesday if I hadn’t heard anything by then. I called on Wednesday and left a message, Thursday and left a message, and today. She called me back today!

This is what she told me: The docs didn’t get around to meeting together this week on Tuesday and will meet next Tuesday instead. So, I guess I’ll have to entertain myself for another week until then…

Called to doctor’s office and they called back a bit later. This is what I found out…

#1… I am the next on the “list” to be be talked about and my head worked on.

#2… The Neurologists and doctors and surgeon will be meeting early next week to discuss all my tests together. 

I want to set up an appointment with all these guys to ask some questions. If I don’t hear anything back by Wednesday, I need to call them myself.

Now, it’s either the main Neurologist or surgeon (one or the other) has the entire month of  August off, so this surgery won’t be happening till September.
